Summary:

Negative emotions, they bring us down and they hinder us from fully enjoying our lives, and they can become a habit. If you struggle with this, I want to share some ideas for improvement.

There’s always some headline-grabbing negative news story out there that can leave you feeling down. A lot of people are struggling with the polarizing status of our country when it comes to politics. Others feel like throwing in the towel and putting their head in the sand. Don’t let this be you. There’s always hope, and I truly do think the future is brighter than ever. There’s always something good and plenty in our lives to be grateful for. The trick is not letting relentless negative news become your personal problems.

The media urges you to be pulled in and to live with fear and anxiety. Reject the concept that you should be pulled in and pulled down when things get rocky. If you feel like you need some relief from all the negative energy around you, then take a break. This could be for only a few hours, or even a few days.

There are 5 simple steps to help you get rid of all the negativity in your life:

  1. Go outside. Enjoy nature – go for a hike, or a walk or a run. Breathe in the fresh air and enjoy that gift.
  2. Give thanks for all the good stuff in your life. Make a journal and write down 5 things that you are grateful for and 5 things you’re looking forward to. Focusing on the goodness in your own life will help you get rid of negativity while focusing your thoughts on positive things.
  3. Remember that it’s only weather. Celebrate the bizarre weather. Dance in the rain, bask in the sun, and do your best to see each day as a gift.
  4. Practice peace. The more peace you offer to people, the more peaceful you’ll feel. Be kind, reach out, and help people.
  5. Surround yourself with positive people. Choose positive people to hang out with, and watch your positivity grow, and watch your life start to blossom and to flourish. You’re in charge of your own emotions and your attitude.

You can’t control the things that surround you however; you can completely control your own thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Your attitude is your choice. Friends, I encourage you strongly to think about that and to choose well.

Hey, guys. Coach Brett Blair here. Hey, I’m sharing this video with you from my new studio. I love it here, and I’m excited to be able to reach out and share some thoughts today on how to get rid of all the negativity in your life. You know, negative emotions, they bring us down and they hinder us from fully enjoying our lives, and they can become a habit.

Remember, our American founding fathers were brilliant when they designed elections every 4 years. There’s always something good and plenty in our lives to be grateful for. The trick is not letting relentless negative news become your personal problems. The media urges you to be pulled in and to live with fear and anxiety. For some reason, fear sells. It brings in viewers, people that are hungry for details and more bad news. I encourage you to live above all this. Reject the concept that you should be pulled in and pulled down when things get rocky. You know, things in your life, they’re going to get rocky. Maybe they’re a little rocky right now. You don’t need to overreact to those times. If you feel like you need some relief from all the negative energy around you, then take a break. This could be for only a few hours, or even a few days. If watching TV or reading the newspaper is causing you stress and frustration, then stop doing it. Let it go.

I’ve been thinking about this and I’ve come up with a few easy and really simple steps to help you get rid of all the negative in your life. Number 1 is, go outside. Leave the news at home and go for a walk in nature. Don’t bring your phone, just go out and be alone or maybe with a good friend. Go for a hike, or a walk, or a run. Breathe in the fresh air and enjoy that gift.

Number 2, give thanks for all the good stuff in your life. There’s always good things in life to be grateful for. In your journal, write down the top 5 things you’re thankful for and the top 5 things you’re looking forward to. Focusing on the goodness in your own life will help in taking your focus off all the national problems that you have no control over anyway.

Number 3, remember that it’s only weather. How many people do you know who are always complaining about the weather? Well, don’t be one of these people. Celebrate bizarre weather, and don’t let it get you down. If it’s raining, enjoy the rain, and do your best to see each day as a gift. You know, weather, it’s almost always small stuff. It’s just not worth complaining about.

Number 4, practice peace. The more peace you offer to people, the more peaceful you’ll feel. Live a life of peace. Be kind, reach out, help people. Try to remove the negative thoughts from your mind and negative words from your vocabulary.

Number 5, surround yourself with positive people. We all need people to love us and encourage us and support us through the tough times in life. Choose positive people to hang out with, and watch your positivity grow, and watch your life start to blossom and to flourish. You’re in charge of your own emotions and your attitude.

You know, you can’t control the weather. You can’t control the news. You can’t control the political climate of our country. You certainly can’t control other people. You can, however, completely control your own thoughts and your emotions and behaviors. Your attitude is your choice. Friends, I encourage you strongly to think about that and to choose well. Thanks a lot.
